New to fundraising and feeling a bit overwhelmed? We are here to help you. We want you to have success using our faithraiser platform and meeting your donation goals. Look at our tips below for making your faithraiser successful.
- Start with a clear “Ask.” What type of funding or support do you need and why? People respond when they know what they are giving to. Make sure you help them connect to your needs and WHY you need them. Share your story and what impact their donation will have!
- Add photos to your faithraiser. People connect with real people and real situations.
- People identify with a specific ask, rather than a broad ask. For example, if asking for donations or supplies for your local church, attach a specific family or individual to that request. Highlight them so people can better relate and engage with your faithraiser.
- Do not be afraid of emotions. Our humanity is activated when our emotions come into play. Be vulnerable as you share your needs!
- Make sure you update your donors often. Take them on the journey of supporting you or the cause you are asking support for. Let them know that they are PERSONALLY making a difference. It has been found people like to be celebrated for individual contributions and impacts.
- Utilize your community and social media. Generosity is contagious and people do not want to miss what others are doing! Engage with those around you and let them know that other people are participating. People love to be a part of something that has momentum and energy behind it. Share on your social media pages and ask those you trust to do the same! We suggest starting a #hashtag to get greater exposure. Focus on reels and doing lives on Facebook or Instagram.
- Look to those around you that are like-minded. Can you band together to raise even more? Pull upon each other’s communities and connections. Depending on the size of the faithraiser, you can put together teams that compete against each other to raise the most funds, gather the most volunteers, or collect the most supplies.
- Reach out directly to people. An individualized touch goes a long way. Who does not love to be thought of personally?
- You can offer an incentive to the largest donor or to your biggest advocate. Offer a small prize or even a celebratory dinner. Either way, make it something they will love and that is appropriate for the faithraiser size.
- Lastly, make sure you are celebrating victories! People love to see their efforts producing change. Get excited and share that excitement with those around you. It will make all the difference.
