TYPES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect Personal Data directly
from individuals when it is voluntarily submitted to us online. The information
you provide is used to fulfill your requests on our site and to enable our
communication with you.
We collect the following types of information from site users:
- Legal name or business name
- Email address
- Login details
- Billing name and address
- Last 4 digits of your credit card
- Phone number
- Campaign name
- Beneficiary name
- Date of birth (in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age and our site and services are all directed to people who are at least 18 years or older)
- Any other information you choose to provide us (such as a profile picture)
Our payment processor(s) collect full credit card and/or bank details as well as other information necessary to set up Donor withdrawals and Beneficiary deposits.
You can sign up for or sign into your FaithRaiser account using Facebook Connect, a single sign in in which links your Facebook profile information to your FaithRaiser account. When you do this, FaithRaiser receives your public profile, friend list and email address. The manner in which Facebook uses, stores and discloses your information is governed by the policies of such third parties, and FaithRaiser shall not be liable for the privacy practices of any social networking enabled within the Services.
Like many websites, we use cookies, web beacons and tracking technology called Google Analytics to obtain certain types of information when you access our site. We collect items such as the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet and the other pages you accessed. We work with service providers such as Google Analytics to track, gather and analyze this information. The information (including an anonymized IP address) collected by the technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers, who use the information to evaluate your use of the Services. Cookies also help customize the site for visitors. Some cookies are strictly necessary to make our Services available to you. We also use cookies for functional purposes in order to maintain and improve our Services or your experiences, and for marketing purposes.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell or otherwise disclose Personal Data about our users, except as described here. We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:
- To start a Campaign;
- To administer your account or funds;
- To respond to requests and inquiries;
- To notify you or provide other information related to Campaigns you have either donated to, or of which you are the Organizer/Beneficiary;
- To send you a newsletter or other promotional communications;
- To conduct research and analyze data to improve our Service or customize our communications with you;
- To notify you of new or additional products, services, and promotions that might be of interest to you. In addition, we may send you and otherwise correspond with you, about products, services, promotions, and campaigns, sponsored by us and others, that we think might interest you;
- To communicate with you by email, postal mail, telephone, text message, or other means; and
- To otherwise provide the Services.
The profile you create on our site will be publicly visible. Any Personal Data you post in a publicly accessible part of our website is available to the public without any expectation of privacy or confidentiality. If you provide a personal testimonial describing your satisfaction of use of our site, we also may display such personal testimonial.
FaithRaiser provides Organizers and Beneficiaries (if not the same) with access to certain information of Donors who have donated to the corresponding Campaign, including Donor names, email addresses, donation dates and donation amounts. Where Organizers and Beneficiaries are not the same, FaithRaiser provides Beneficiaries with access to certain information of Organizers, including Organizer names, email addresses, type of donations and total donations received.
We may disclose Personal Data (1) if permitted or required by law and/or to comply with legal process (including, but not limited to, court orders, subpoenas, search warrants, and other legal processes), (2) in response to an inquiry or a request from a government, regulatory, law enforcement authority, (3) to protect and defend the legal rights, privacy, safety or property of FaithRaiser, its affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, agents, contractors or users, (4) to pursue available remedies, commence, participate in, or defend litigation, or limit the damages that we may sustain, (5) to enforce the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Services, or (6)when we believe such a disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.
We also may disclose information to trusted third parties that help us bring you the products and services we offer. To operate our business, we may work with a third party to: (a) manage a database of customer information; (b) assist us in distributing e-mails; (c) assist us with direct marketing and data collection; (d) provide data storage and analysis; (e) provide fraud prevention; (f) administer surveys, contests or sweepstakes; and (g) other services designed to assist us in maximizing our business potential. We require that these outside companies agree to keep confidential all information we share with them and to use the information only as necessary to perform their services.
HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
Protecting your Personal Data is a priority. FaithRaiser is committed to taking all reasonable steps to protect the security and integrity of all Personal Data provided to us, including limiting the number of people who have access to our database servers and employing electronic security systems and password protections that guard against unauthorized access. In addition, we will never send your credit card information via e-mail.
We may store Personal Data digitally. Credit card numbers are never stored on our database or servers.
We use Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) technology to protect the transmission over the Internet of your payment card data. You can check the security of your connection by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure site, the first characters of the site address change from “http” to “https.” If you are using a web browser or firewall that does not permit communications through secure sites, you will not be able to make purchases on our site.
While FaithRaiser makes all reasonable efforts to follow generally accepted standards to protect Personal Data submitted to us, due to the inherent nature of the Internet as an open global communications vehicle, no online transmission or storage of data is guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, FaithRaiser expressly disclaims any and all liability for any unintentional disclosure or disclosure due to a security breach of our systems and/or facilities. In the unlikely event that we believe that the security of your Personal Data in our possession or control may have been comprised, we may seek to notify you as promptly as possible under the circumstances, and, to the extent we have your e-mail address, we may notify you by e-mail. You hereby consent to our use of e-mail as a means of such notification.
We retain Personal Data for the duration we deem necessary for the purpose for which such Personal Data was provided and/or collected. We will only retain Personal Data to the extent permitted or required by law. When we no longer need to retain your information, we may take reasonable steps to remove it from our systems and records and/or take steps to anonymize it so that you can no longer be identified from it in accordance with our internal document retention policies.
